Scottish Stained Glass vs. Other Handcrafted Stained Glass
Scottish Stained Glass is a process personally developed by our founder and president, Martin Faith. Martin has perfected this process over the past 30 years building from techniques and secrets he learned from the traditional stained glass process when growing up in Glasgow, Scotland. His father contributed an engineering aspect to the process that inspired Martin to take every technological vantage point in making each custom piece he created the strongest and best it can be. The Scottish Stained Glass process incorporates traditional methods and enhances them by using dark leads, hidden solder joints, precise soldering temperatures, a unique polishing process that utilizes black cement, as well as the combination of computer-aided designs, CAD, and free hand sketches and designing. When you compare Scottish Stained Glass to other handcrafted stained glass studios, you’ll notice that the majority available is of disappointingly poor quality. The joints and leading tend to be different colors, the vertical and horizontal lines don’t match, and the actual design proportions and colors are poor due to other studios not utilizing Photoshop and CAD.
