Hallway stained glass for beauty and privacy.

Hallways can be dark unless you have windows that let in light. However many hallway windows offer poor views of the side of the neighbor’s house, or in a city, the side of a brick building. One way to fix this sad view situation – and still let light into your hallway — is with custom designed hallway stained glass windows. Hallway stained glass can give you a beautiful new stained glass view without blocking all of the light.

We recently attended a house-warming party at a friend’s new house. The older, inner city dwelling had a long, narrow hallway from the entryway to the kitchen. And inserted into that hallway were three antique stained glass windows.

When we complimented our host’s hallway stained glass, he said, “Yeah. That was the deciding factor for me to buy this particular house. I just fell in love with the stained glass windows.”

Without the windows, his hallway would have been uncomfortably dark at all times, despite the overhead lighting. With the windows, he had the light he wanted, but would have had an undesirable view. Because the builder had the taste and foresight to add hallway stained glass, he turned two potential disadvantages into a strong selling point for this home, even decades after it was built.

Hallway stained glass does not allude to any particular style. It can be an antique style, like in our friend’s home. It can be brightly colored, or completely colorless. It can be a combination of clear and vivid colors, or even a mural design that stretches from window to window down the hallway, telling a story or setting a scene.

By the way, if you have a window in your stairwell, some hallways stained glass would add a phenomenal, stylish focal point there as well.

Hallways stained glass is the perfect way to take a boring, dark room in your home and bring its beauty up to the other rooms. And if you ever go to sell your home, custom stained glass not only adds value, but as you can see, it can be a strong incentive for someone to fall in love with and make an offer on your home.

It’s hard to see anything but an up side to adding hallway stained glass to your Houston home. If you do have windows in your entry hallway, and you’d like matching stained glass windows in your entryway itself, this can create a jaw-dropping effect that tells visitors, “here is a home with class, attention to detail, and priority on beauty and originality.”
